Qigong
or chi kun (pronounced "chee-gong") is a practice of balancing qi, the energy of the body (our vital force). The principals of qigong form the foundation of traditional Chinese medicine, martial arts and philosopy. By bringing intention and awareness to breath, movement, and mind, participants learn to harness the natural healing energy available to the body. Best described as a standing meditative practice, it is easy to start learning qigong. Although no special clothing is required we suggest wearing comfortable layers. As a group, our qigong circle will explore the many forms and techniques available to western qigong practitioners. Over time we will learn to increase our qi energy to a point were some may even choose to share healing energy with others. The goal of regular qigong practice is to improve the health and harmony of the mind, body and soul.
